February 2007 yielded many exciting learning events at The APEX.  The month
long of activities was kicked off by world renown filmmaker, Haile Gerima,
producer of the movie "Sankofa".  Dr. Asa Hilliard, Fuller E. Calloway Professor
at Georgia State University, Dr. Akinyele K. Umoja, professor Georgia State and
Dr. Keith Baird, professor (formerly) also at Georgia State spoke at succeeding
APEX events.  Dr. ALton Hornsby, Fuller E. Calloway Professor at Morehouse
and former editor of the Crisis Magazine was a highlight of the month with a
lecture and book signing event. Author of "Tembe", Gillian Lee-Fong Farris
concluded the month long events with a lecture and book signing.
