Raising the APEX  Phase II

Name:  The APEX Museum / Phase II

Cost: $30 million

Description:  The new facility will be built on the
adjoining lot owned by the current APEX museum,
and will set a new direction for museums.

THE APEX (African American Panoramic Experience) will not be a collection of artifacts
set in a sterile environment. It will be a live vibrant, life-like re-creation of history
beginning with ancient African civilizations.

The visitor will walk through history with multi-media, audio animation, sights and
sounds as though they were there when these events occurred.

Job Increase Statistics: The APEX will create more than 490 temporary jobs, and 850
plus permanent jobs.

Economic Impact: THE APEX will increase tourism throughout the metro area, which
results in more revenue for the travel, hotel, entertainment and food industries. The
estimated economic impact will be more than $28.6 million new dollars annually in
Metro Atlanta.

Fund Usage: $18 million for Phase II construction, with construction set for a 2-year
plan.  $12 million will go to permanent exhibitions. Installation of state-of- the art
permanent exhibits will take place within 6 months of construction completion.
