This free event is open to all Scouts and the Atlanta community to experience many iconic locations in Atlanta’s civil rights. The event is free, but all registered participants may purchase a commemorative patch for $3.
As a Scout in Troop 151 in the late 1930s, the young Martin Luther King, Jr.’s troop met at Ebenezer Baptist Church. “Sweet Auburn” Avenue, one of the most vibrant and successful African American corridors of the nation in that era, and was his neighborhood.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8 AM - 1 PM, an event open to the Atlanta community, including Cub Scouts, Scouts, parents, and leaders, are invited to join the annual Civil Rights Heritage Hike. The hike is a learning tour that visits Atlanta’s historic and active centers for our nation’s civil rights.
